Double basement

Here's a piece of advice for any hedge fund manager looking to substantially renovate their multi-million pound London pile: you are likely to irritate the other people that live in your street.

And that appears to be what is happening in Belsize Park - a favourite for some of London's most successful hedgies.

Some readers might recall the piece I published a few months ago in which Christopher Hohn, founder of The Children's Investment Fund, denied on the record he had purchased (see below) this lovely house in Belsize Park. Here is the link to the article:

Well, I hear the owner of this residence, whoever he is, has really annoyed other local residents by trying to install a "double" basement underneath the property, which I presume involves a lot of loud drilling thoughout the day.
